Engineering Entrepreneur

ThinkNimble is looking for engineers with 3+ years of development experience who are ready for more autonomy in their work.

You’ll work directly with clients as a Project Lead to help take their dreams and distill them down into a product/application that can be realistically built in ~1 month… and then you’ll build it.

You’ll start from a solid foundation (we have tools that will bootstrap a full login and account creation application to production in 20min. CI/CD, automatic linters, unit tests, e2e test, docker, etc, etc) so you can start implementing meaningful client features on day 1.

You’ll gain startup experience building startups for others. Failure is expected and the best teacher, so you’ll have a deep bench of tech leads, other devs, PMs, etc to draw upon when the road gets bumpy.

  • 1/2 of our employees live throughout the US. The other 1/2 come to the office once per week. We provide a yearly budget for any equipment need you might have.

  • All of our tech leaders are required to spend 30-60% of their time coding.

  • All engineers are expected to spend 10% of their time learning, improving our tools, or experimenting with a crazy, innovative idea.

  • We bootstrap new projects monthly using the most up-to-date tools and versions. We have a couple of long-lived projects, but most are 3-9 months. With a wide variety of industries, you’ll grow more in 1 year here than you would in 5 years somewhere else.

  • We’re bottom-up, not top-down. You’ll be client-facing and define your own critical path for your projects. But don’t worry, you’ll have a full team supporting you (backup dev, tech lead, PM, etc) We value the lessons that failure teaches. You’ll have a deep bench of support to tap into when things don’t go to plan.

On average, you should expect the following in your 40-hour work week:

10% learning, improving internal tools, or prototyping that cool/crazy idea you have

60% Coding

20% leadership tasks for your projects (meeting with clients, planning, etc)

10% in ThinkNimble meetings or other overhead tasks
