Julep came to us after struggling to build the right product in the right way with an overseas development agency. Their North Star pointed at healing emotion surrounding financial choices in order to influence and impact spending habits and goals. The app provides custom financial advice based on emotional interactions and real time spending.

The tool we built with Julep is unlike anything on the market today - it combines your personal spending history, a trained financial coach model, and takes into account the reasons why you spend - helping you gain a deeper understanding not just of what you spend, but why.
Julep Project Outcomes
+ DISCOVERY
We underwent three major design phases with Julep, to support their business responses to customer feedback on early product releases. The latest customer discovery led us to build a simple interface to interact with a trained financial coach. The coach integrates real-time spending and emotional reactions to guide users toward 3 primary outcomes - understand spending breakdown, identify an amount of money that is “safe to spend” per month, and track and improve alignment of customer emotions and spending habits.
+ DEVELOPMENT
We worked in monthly iteration cycles to design and develop the Julep iOs app. This enabled us to roll out the product incrementally and get feedback from stakeholders throughout the process. We created a scalable infrastructure to support multiple external integrations that was lightweight enough to pivot effectively.
+ HIRING
When Julep was ready to hire in-house, we helped them interview and hire a Technical Lead. Cross-training and incorporating their growing team into our own provided stability for their technical team.
